Jessica's next ‘co-love’ of 2024 ‘Viva la Frida’ is a storytelling trio of charms celebrating the death anniversary of renowned artist Frida Kahlo, who passed away 70 years ago.

Inspired by Frida's last painting ‘Viva la Vida’ Jessica has chosen to represent her story through a hand-engraved wax seal with the word ¡VIVA! in Spanish exclamations. This very special charm marks her death and losses with an exclamation of life. It is also a nod to Jessica’s popular ‘Letters of Note’ charms.

This is a Limited Edition piece and each is numbered with a stamp and take 2-3 weeks to hand-make.

As Frida was left handed, we have used a left hand to hold onto the seal and we have added a Mexican lace inspired embellishment.

Jessica has loved delving into Frida's letters that she wrote to Diego Rivera and the 'The Frida' engraving at the reverse of the charm has been inspired by her hand-writing within these love letters.

Inspired by Frida’s floral hair bouquet and in homage to Mexico, Jessica has designed this limited edition charm set with symbolic stones to commemorate Frida Kahlo's life and her losses. Her floral hair crown has been represented by a trio of colours on the top of the seal, a faceted red Garnet, cabochon white Opal and a faceted green Emerald, which is a direct reference to the Mexican flag . The three stones also represent Frida, the love of her life Diego and the unborn child she never had.

As miscarriage and infertility were such an integral part of Frida’s story, we will be giving 15% of each Floral Wreath Charm sold to the Miscarriage Association.* We hope that by bringing it to the forefront of this special piece, it can help break down some of the taboo (that still exists today) about talking about this very sensitive subject.
