I started Quirk & Whimsy in 2016 and have thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating an eclectic range of functional and decorative items. Having studied ceramics at university over 30 years ago, I feel so grateful to be able to work full time with it as the main part of my practice now.

My ceramic creations have loads of character and often include little feet or legs. Each item is carefully hand built in my garden studio and has a little whimsy and wonder mixed in.

When I’m not playing with clay I also love to draw and, during lockdown, designed a range of illustrated tea towels that can be cut and sewn to make cushions/ soft toys/ mobiles or door stops. I’m very proud of them and think they make excellent gifts for folk like me who like a little creative project.

Outside of work I love to travel, eat overpriced chocolate, light lots of candles, play cello (badly), practice tai chi and hang out with my family, friends and our crazy little dog.
