Wax & Wane Reversible Linen Throw Quilt

A handmade two-sided reversible linen throw quilt in abstract Wax & Wane patchwork design with hand-quilting detail; one side blue linen with white linen patchwork design & one side white linen with blue linen patchwork design. The 'Wax & Wane' design represent the birth & death cycle of the moon; someone once taught me that when the moon is curved like the letter 'b' it's a new moon growing to a full moon (or waxing), and when it's a letter 'd' it's waning. I like this visual reminder of the perpetual cycle of the different curves of the moon as it goes through its regular cycle between new & full moons; a repetitive natural, inevitable cycle of change which can ground us.

This quilt is perfect size to be used as a throw blanket for the sofa or outside, a quilt for a toddler's bed or at the end of a single bed, or as a wall hanging. Quilts can be personalised with a hand embroidered name or message if desired making them perfect for a gift or commemorating a special occasion.
