Hi, I’m Susan, founder and Head of Everything at Fat Hen And Flo.
From my studio on the often sunny Kent coast I design, screen print and make an assortment of pop culture idols.
From mini Tinned Idols to huggable Idol cushions, I turn our favourite inspirational Idols into fun keepsakes making them the perfect gift for those that have everything except a Sew Your Own Kate Bush or huggable Pedro Pascal.

Fat Hen And Flo was born 15 years ago whilst I was figuring out how to fit back into the workplace after having children and the photographic print world I had worked in turned digital. A newly acquired fabric addiction required some legitimacy so I set up my first shop selling the quilts and quirky creatures I designed and made. Forever a printer, I then taught myself screen printing and started to turn my drawings into Sew Your Own kits on the kitchen table. Roll on a few years, the kids are now grown and from my studio in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter the range of Idols and creatures continues to grow and sell around the world.
Everything is designed and made in the studio in Kent, using UK suppliers which allows me to work sustainably whilst producing a wide range of products.
