At my studio, I aim to weave sustainability into the textiles industry while putting a modern spin on traditional crafts. I believe that we can enjoy quality products that we cherish while minimising our impact on the planet.

In 2017, I started Shiv Textiles in my bedroom after working as an intern for big-name brands in the textiles and fashion industry. I was shocked by the amount of perfectly good materials going to waste, and I knew there had to be a better way. Fast fashion needs to take its foot off the pedal, and that's where I come in.

I began contacting mills and factories, buying their yarns, zips, threads, buttons, and other materials destined for landfill by the kilogram. And from these, I created the beautiful cushions, scarves, and weaving kits that you see today. The process of upcycling materials never gets old; it requires me to think on my feet and design with what I have. Every box of reclaimed materials that arrives at my studio feels like a small victory.
