We use a variety of stoneware clays in our studio to give different colours and textures to our pieces. We also use stains to colour our clay, which is a lengthy, messy and labour intensive process!

As the coloured stain is incorporated throughout the ceramic form, we mostly apply a gloss transparent glaze to the internal surface while the outer surface is left unglazed to create a tactile finish.
