TO OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY
It’s with a heavy heart, especially in light of other current news, that I’m sharing that the Holly & Co Work/Shop, after nearly six years, has now closed its doors for good.
As you can imagine, as part of the St Margarets community, it’s not been an easy decision to make. One of my greatest joys has been welcoming customers into our space, seeing the delight of children as they leave a note for our resident fairy, and reimagining our cafe each month with creativity and colourful imagination thanks to our Artists in Residence.
We are however facing the combined factors of rising prices across the board, fewer of our local community visiting us and our landlord doubling our rent — all of which mean we’re no longer able to keep our cafe running.
It’s not a decision I’ve taken lightly, we’ve explored so many avenues — and as a local resident myself, I know what a special place our space has in so many hearts.
Rest assured, our doors may be closed, but Holly & Co remains very much open and committed to supporting small businesses across the UK, with everything from podcasts to business advice, and inspiration to events — you can still follow what we’re doing here on the website and on Instagram @HollyTucker.
Can I ask, that if you’re local and have popped by to get a coffee and seen our doors closed, that you visit and support one of the other brilliant independent coffee shops in our town instead? They need us more than ever.
I know each pound is so precious, so please do consider where you spend them and vote with your money for the kind of world you want to live in, to prevent more businesses like this one having to close.
Finally, thank you to each and every customer who’s walked through our doors and shown your support. It’s been the most extraordinary experience and one I and the whole team will cherish — a magical space that will be forever part of the history of Holly & Co.
