'All the Trimmings' Christmas Cocker Spaniel Bowl

Christmas dinner has a habit of finding its way onto a Cocker Spaniel’s ears. This handmade ceramic Christmas Cocker Spaniel bowl is a festive version of my original Ear Free Bowl, designed to keep those glorious feathers outside the bowl where they belong. Because why shouldn’t your dog have their own Christmas dinnerware?

Each bowl is individually thrown by me on the potter’s wheel in my Hampshire studio using British clay. I have been making bowls for long-eared dogs at Chow Bella since 2006, combining a practical shape with pottery you’ll be happy to have on display in your home.

Designed specifically for show and working Cocker Spaniels, the bowl has a broad, stable base and a narrower opening. As your dog eats, their ears naturally fall down the outside, helping to keep them away from wet, raw or dry food — and making soggy, post-din-dins ears a thing of the past.

Every bowl is thrown, decorated and finished by hand, so you may notice gentle throwing lines and small variations in its shape and decoration. These are part of what makes handmade pottery so special, and mean that no two bowls will be precisely alike.

The finished bowl is food-safe, dishwasher-safe and fired in kilns powered by sunshine from my studio’s solar panels.
