Description

Let our design and workshop team create a future family heirloom for you! Our mechanical Tide Clocks depict a tiny mechanical harbour with moving waves and bobbing boats and this custom-built version allows you to create a total one-off to your own design.

We will work with you to design a show-stopping clock that will be the pride of your home. Your choice of harbour scene, lighthouse, boat or floating craft - we can make it all happen inside the mechanical scenery.

An incredibly unique addition to your home that will also help you plan walks on the beach at low tide or chilly swims at high-water.

Available in Midnight Black, Cloudy Grey, Summer Blue or Copper-plated finishes.

Need to know

  • We work with any imagery that you have yourself or you have found online (or we can find on your behalf online!), in order to produce an artist's depiction of:
  • (1.) Your preferred harbour or coastal location, including lighthouse (if desired), other foreground details, background and sky, and
  • (2.) Your choice of two boats or watercraft that will bob on the waves, perhaps your own boat or something in keeping with the local scene such as a beloved ferry.
  • A simple design process (10-12 week lead time):
  • After you have placed your order, please use the Customer Contact Form on the Contact Us page and select 'I need to send images to the Co for a personalised product' option.
  • You'll then be able to attach your images.
  • You'll also be reminded on how to send these within your Order Confirmation email too.
  • If you could please send these within 24 hours of purchase so your delivery time isn't impacted.
  • When the image(s) of your preferred harbour or coastline and any watercraft are agreed, our artist will hand draw the scene to fit with the moving mechanics. These parts are then custom printed and assembled into a clock built specially for you, as you will see, when the clock arrives with you for its grand unveiling!
  • A mini animated harbour in a clock – watch the waves move and the light house flash as the clever mechanical scenery brings the little harbour to life.
  • Delightfully uncomplicated set up – synchronise the clock when your local tide is highest, and the semi-diurnal timer will do the rest, tracking the tides without needing an internet connection.
  • Plan sea swims, beach walks or boat launches – the moving scenery is connected to a central dial, so you can count the hours until high or low tide.
  • Happy to blend in, or stand out – proudly hanging in your kitchen, hallway or your room with the sea views, it adds even more homeliness to coastal living.
  • Impress your visitors – push the little button on the bottom of the clock when friends and family are round, and watch them be amazed as it goes through a fully animated tidal cycle.
  • A good size – the Tide Clock's frame measures 33cm diameter (13 inches) and 12.5cm deep (5 inches) – big enough to work as a single focal point in a room, small enough to sit alongside other wall art and furnishings.
  • Hand Assembled in Great Britain. - All of our Patented, British-designed clocks are assembled by hand at our workshop in Hampshire, England – delicate, skilled work.
  • Easy to hang (indoors!) - A single screw in the wall can hold the clock and you get a nifty hanging guide in the box. One thing to note: please don't hang it within 50cm (20 inches) of a radiator. The delicate mechanics don’t enjoy direct heat.
  • Certificate of Authenticity. - A badge of honour for every Bramwell Brown Clock we make, signed by the team members that assembled it for you.
  • Quality materials. - The steel clock frame is hand-finished. The Black, Blue or Grey powder coated frames are silky smooth. Copper-plated frames have a nice clear lacquer finish to prevent any oxidisation over time. Printed vinyl clock face sits behind the anodised metal minute and hour hands. Harbour artwork print is onto lightweight artboard. The clock window is shatterproof Lumex.
  • Runs on regular batteries. Included, of course, with all clocks.

Bramwell Brown Clocks - Rob and Sarah

Bramwell Brown Clocks

Somerset house, london

Hi! We are Rob & Sarah, a brother and sister team originally from Lancashire. We trace our love of curious mechanical objects back to our childhood – to Sunday afternoons, when Dad would wind the grandfather clock, then tap on the barometer to see what the weather might be up to that day. Our clocks were born out of that shared fascination with old clock mechanics. It was our dream to create beautiful clocks that summoned that same sense of childhood fun and nostalgia.

Our clocks are customisable so do please check the product descriptions for guidance!
