A handmade mussel shell shaped ceramic dish with cobalt oxide blue exterior and white interior, shaped and textured to resemble the shell of the mussel...
A handmade mussel shell shaped ceramic dish with cobalt oxide blue exterior and white interior, shaped and textured to resemble the shell of the mussel.
This mussel shell is pressed into a Plaster mould that I made from casting an original piece that I sculpted.
The scored lines add texture on the inside edge, and layers of underglaze colours and glazes are built up on the surface. Pieces are then fired up to a stoneware glaze of 1240 degrees centigrede.
This is perfect for nibbles, a soap dish, for jewellery on your dressing table, or just to hold and admire .
