I am a hand-knitter and pattern designer who is inspired by the sea. My father grew up on a a small island off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, where my grandfather caught lobsters.

My Nanny (grandmother) has knit our family many treasured pairs of mittens over the years. I have made my own adapted pattern looking at her original work – and adding in some crustaceans :)

This is a classic style of knitted mitten used in Newfoundland and many Scandinavian and Nordic regions.

To hand-knit these mittens at the highest quality I've partnered with Niko International – a sustainable and socially responsible artisan collective in Peru that adheres to the Global Organic Textile Standard and is a provisional member of the World Fair Trade Organization. They are an amazing group of women who knit beautifully using local alpaca wool.
