I am a hand-knitter and pattern designer who is inspired by the sea. My father grew up on a a small island off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, which is famous for having a lot of puffins.
While I currently live in Brighton, UK, I designed these puffin toys while I was living in Newfoundland myself.
To hand-knit these puffins at the highest quality I've partnered with Niko International – a sustainable and socially responsible artisan collective in Peru that adheres to the Global Organic Textile Standard and is a provisional member of the World Fair Trade Organization. They are an amazing group of women who knit beautifully using local alpaca wool.
