Our hand made leather dog lead. Beautifully simple & simply beautiful. Clean lines, elegant tones & a little dose of punk rock cool all combine to make this lead a classic. We make it in 2 thicknesses – standard (this option - great for everyone) or skinny (for teeny tiny pooches). And because we love to overstep any mark, we can also add studs to the standard lead so that they match your collar. The handle & main body of the lead are joined with an O-Ring. Perfect to clip cool things to, like your Poo Pouch or Treats Bag. Made in the same beautifully soft yet strong leather that we make our collars in. Your lead will be handmade by our craftspeople in our Suffolk workshop, hand worked using traditional methods, especially for you and your beloved pooch.

The leather in our leads is 3-4mm thick leather in black, tan, chocolate or red.
Below you can find our more about the individual qualities of each colour leather:
Black Leather - really long lasting and strong.
Tan Leather - will age beautifully as worn & the colour will deepen with time. Super strong.
Chocolate Leather - strong & beautifully rich in colour – looks amazing on brindle dogs.
Red Leather - bright and fun, may not last as many years as the natural veg tanned colours but will look fabulous.

It is important to note that leather is a naturally dyed material. It can behave in a similar way to a new pair of dark denim jeans that turn your hands and legs blue on first wearing. Leather is a natural product and some colour transference can happen on initial use but should soon stop.

Our Trigger Hooks, O Rings and studs are all made in solid brass. The silver finish versions are nickle plated solid brass.

Our studs are exclusively handmade for us – each stud is individually punched out from a sheet of solid brass, then the rivet backs are welded on by hand, one by one. We use brass because it is strong and will not break. It is also environmentally the best option. The silver colour versions are nickel plated. All studs have brass backs for a hypoallergenic finish.

Before leaving our workshop the lead has been treated with Neatsfoot oil to protect against water. Ideally we recommend treating this lead as you would a pair of leather shoes. Ideally remoisturise with saddle soap or Neatsfoot oil every now and then.

Our collars and leads are guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase against breakage or loss of studs.

Our leads tend to last for many years – often a lifetime (unless eaten or chewed). If the lead is in need of some TLC we offer a collar and lead service for £20 (inc postage back to you) where we will replace all rivets or missing studs and clean and treat the leather.
