A simple, hand-painted candle holder with a whimsical bird design, perfect for adding a touch of charm to your table or mantel. It is made using a paper resist method and then hand painting in the details on each bird. A lovely denim blue slip has been used in the background which compliments the three yellow circles very nicely.
The candle holder holds a dinner candle which will need a little candle wax dripped in the inside to hold the candle in place. The holder is slightly thrown out at the top to allow candle wax to drip down into the sides instead of dripping over.
Each piece is handmade from raw stoneware clay which is bisque fired and then high fired to 1270 degrees, covered in a clear glaze which makes the candle holders fit for purpose.
