The Pumpernickel Herringbone Tweed Martingale Collar features earthy tones of brown, peat, and dried bark. A beautifully sophisticated modern tweed for any season and for urban or country hounds alike. Handmade using the finest 100% Herringbone pure wool, lined with soft chocolate Swiss velvet and finished with solid brass hardware. A perfect choice for most pelts but particularly lovely on black hounds. Warm and understated ideal for hounds who aspire to a gentile lifestyle.
Martingale collars are designed to stop your dog from escaping or backing out of their collar. Your Pumpernickel Herringbone Tweed Martingale Dog Collar will sit loosely around your dog’s neck. If and when they pull, the martingale loop will tighten, exerting a gentle pressure around their neck. This action doesn’t hurt, meaning our martingale collars are a safe and effective way to manage a dog who slips its collar easily. Martingale collars are perfect for walking or training your dog. They can be helpful in unexpected situations when caring for shy, timid hounds whose first instincts are to buck their collar when nervous.
All our collars are made using sturdy webbing which is then covered with high-quality fabric, boxed stitched for added security and finished with solid and robust hardware. We line all Doggy Boho collars with luxury Swiss velvet to give your dog a soft feel to enjoy and relax.
Collar Width: 1" (2.5cm), 1.5" (3.8cm), 2" (5cm)
The width of the collar is important. A collar that is too wide, may be uncomfortable, while one that is too narrow may not provide enough support. Generally, the width should be proportionate to your dog’s size: Small Dogs: 5/8 to 1 inch wide. Medium Dogs: 1 to 1.5 inches Long-necked breeds can carry a wider collar and will support their neck. Please take care to purchase the most appropriate width for your dog breed. If in doubt, contact us or your vet for advice.
Collar Sizing:
Extra Small: 8"-12" (20cm-30cm), Small: 12"-14" (30cm-35cm), Small-Medium: 14"-16" (35cm-40cm), Medium: 16"-18" (40cm-45cm), Large: 18"-20" (45cm-50cm), Extra Large: 20"-26" (50cm-66cm). Remember, martingale collars are adjustable but sized to fit over the widest part of your dog's head.
Caring for your Tweed Martingale collar:
We recommend hand washing or spot cleaning the soiled area. This collar can be machine washed on a gentle cycle but not tumble dried; instead, air dry, it's better for the environment.

With a degree in Fine Art and a dabble in Interior Design after leaving Art College. I am continuously inspired by art, colour, beautiful fabrics, and an unconventional bohemian style and artistic spirit. This is my inspiration when creating beautiful, handmade accessories for hounds who aspire to be noticed.
The excitement of sourcing beautiful fabrics brings me great pleasure and escapism. It allows momentary respite and a chance to recharge before jumping back into the fray, of running a small business alone. Working for myself allows me to bring together my two great passions. Creativity and my love of dogs. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to cement the magical marriage of humans and their dogs with something as simple as a new piece of neck-attire!
