Need to Know

Seat dimensions: 60 x 25 x 3.5 cm (23 1/2" x 10" x 1 3/8"). Carved from solid oak and large enough to comfortably fit an adult or two small people.

Supplied with a set of oak legs so it can be used indoors from the first day — as a side table, a stand or a step — and with 2 x 8 metre (20 ft) of 18 mm manila rope, ready to hang when the right branch or beam arrives.

Comes with two engravings, so it can be marked with names, a date or a few words that matter. Carved to order at our workshop in Kent. Please allow time for personalisation and delivery.

A swing you can love before you have a tree.

A swing makes a wonderful present, but a tree strong enough to hang it from is another matter, and most young couples don't have one yet. So the gift too often waits in a shed for a garden that hasn't happened. The Swing-To-Be is our answer: a swing that can wait, and earn its keep in the meantime.

At its heart is our Medium Swing seat, carved in solid oak. Set on a pair of oak legs, it has plenty to do indoors from the first day: a side table, a stand to lift a plant or a cake, a sturdy step for a high shelf. The ropes come supplied, so when the right branch finally arrives, it becomes the swing it was always meant to be.
