I trained at Nottingham Trent University in knitwear design and subsequently worked in design studios for knitted textile companies. Since 2000 I have concentrated on making and developing my own knitted fabrics and products and in 2005 established Janie Knitted Textiles, with my partner Michael.

The creative work in their practice is a direct response to environmental colours, textures and the materials they use together with developing concepts and ideas around natural fibres and sustainability.
