I create unique contemporary ceramics from my garden studio in West Berkshire.
My focus is on functional ceramics for the modern family home, robust enough for daily use, but also design focused and distinct in form and finish. I work mainly with stoneware clay on the wheel but also create hand-built items with a more organic feel.
I have recently launched a new range of bathroom basins alongside my ceramic home and tableware.
I love the tactile nature of clay and enjoy working with textured clay bodies. I like to keep my glazes playful, and use colours ranging from calming aqua hues to bursts of bright colours here and there.
Another passion of mine is styling and photographing my ceramics with fresh blooms from the garden. My work is very much connected to the nature surrounding me, and I am inspired by the changing seasons outside my studio door here in rural Berkshire.
I create contemporary ceramics including tableware, homeware and basins. I strongly believe in the power of craft to ease anxiety and calm the mind.
I discovered ceramics as a creative outlet for dealing with my daughter Tilly's cancer diagnosis back in 2017. Working with clay helped me to focus on something earthy and was extremely therapeutic, giving me a sense of grounding during a very tough time. My daughter beat her cancer after a year of chemotherapy and steroids, and we have all worked to get back to a sense of normality.
