The story behind the business
Meet Kimberly Rainford Art

I came to the art of ink later in my creative life. Everything fell into place when I experienced the elation of lifting the paper on my first lino print—known in the field as "The Reveal." Watching the magic unfold became addictive, and now it's my favourite thing to do!Before discovering printmaking, my first love was fine art photography, capturing treasures that caught my eye. I often found myself lying on my stomach for hours, marvelling at a special pebble on the beach, trying to get the perfect angle. On one occasion, I even stood chatting with a seagull, convinced he was posing for the camera (one actually was!). I exhibited my work in galleries across the southwest of England, and this passion for capturing the moment eventually led me to run my own photography studio. Previously in 1999 I'd earned a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Craft. Later working as a visual merchandiser for a well-known furniture and home décor store, the skills I gained in composition, colour blocking and space management have stayed with me, each journey adding to my creative path. So why printmaking? After a series of fortunate—and some slightly less fortunate—events, I believe printmaking found me. I'm forever grateful to the local print studio that took me under its wing and taught me the basics. I was deeply immersed in learning and loving it when the pandemic hit. Though I couldn't return to the studio, I used the time to hone my skills, all of which led me to where I am today. Being invited to join Holly & Co is simply magical, and I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I loved creating it. Cheesy, but very sincerely true.
