A ceramic mug inspired by the paintings and patterns of Bloomsbury artist Vanessa Bell (1879-1961). This 'Nessa' cup was designed and made in collaboration with the shop at Charleston, home to the Bloomsbury artists. It is hand-painted with unique patterns using coloured underglazes.
The speckles come from little flecks of iron within the body of the clay, which create a lovely effect on the surface when the piece is fired. A functional and decorative piece for a quiet moment.
