This is a print of a Cosmos bipinnatus 'Purity' flower, rendered in fine detail. Its delicate, papery petals are shown in a botanical X-ray study of light and form. The centre is finished by hand with gold leaf, adding a warm, luminous focal point.

As each piece is gilded by hand, the one you collect may differ slightly from the one photographed, part of the charm and character of buying handmade.

A beautiful print from my ongoing series of Botanical X-Rays. All the prints in this series are based on original Cyanotypes. I wanted to create a collection that would let you see deeper into the inner workings of plants. The technique and images I have developed are a mix of art and anatomy, giving a view of the structures and skeletons of plants not normally seen with the naked eye.
