Our very own magical iron gall ink, handmade in small batches, and suitably named after our shop.
This ink has excellent viscosity and usability when it comes to calligraphy, capable of producing wonderfully fine strokes. Based on a medieval recipe, this water-based ink reacts to air and light and gets darker over time. It dries beautifully matt and with a delicate texture.
Works wonderfully with our own paper products and a flexible nib. When an intense, matte black ink is required we would use nothing else.
Please note this is a calligraphy ink to use with dip pens. It is not suitable for fountain pens due to the corrosive nature of iron sulphate. Keep out of reach of children (definitely not for drinking!). When dry, we recommend using a low-odour spray fixative to prevent smudging.
