  • Lined with a genuine, non-repeatable piece of a Cold War-era silk escape map.

  • Care: Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. A natural leather balm can be used over time to rejuvenate the leather..

A handcrafted leather card wallet lined with a rare Cold War-era silk escape map, perfect for history lovers and collectors. Available to be personalised, this is a unique and meaningful gift for the history enthusiast.

These wallets are uniquely lined with a piece of a genuine issue, rescued silk escape map from the Cold War era. Escape maps were the innovative creation of Clayton Hutton, an eccentric MI9 British Army Officer during World War II. Silk does not degrade in water, nor does it rustle like paper, making it ideal for covert use. The maps were discreetly issued to military personnel throughout World War II and beyond. If they were captured or shot down, these silk maps could be their lifeline for escape.

Each card wallet is meticulously handcrafted from genuine and ethically produced vegetable tanned leather, available in navy blue, forest green, wine red, and black. Every wallet is accompanied by a small envelope containing the fascinating story behind the escape maps. Make it even more special by having a name, initials, or numbers foil-blocked onto the leather in either gold, silver or blind.
Maximum character amount is 10.

This exclusive collection is a special collaboration between Sara Jane Murray of Home Front Vintage and Natthakur. The collection was previously sold at The National Army Museum in London.
