A personalised leather bookmark, uniquely lined with a piece of genuine Cold War-era silk escape map. These maps were the innovative creation of Clayton Hutton, an eccentric MI9 British Army Officer during World War II, printed on silk because it doesn't degrade in water or rustle like paper. They were discreetly issued to troops, hidden in uniforms or boots, as a lifeline for escape.

Each bookmark is meticulously handcrafted from genuine, ethically produced Italian vegetable tanned leather, available in several colours. It arrives with a small envelope containing the fascinating story behind the maps. Make it a personal keepsake by having a name, initials, or numbers foil-blocked onto the leather.

The Escape Map collection is a collaboration between Sara Jane Murray of Home Front Vintage and Natthakur, and has been stocked at The National Army Museum in London.
