Need to Know
  • A simple star Christmas tree topper made from French knitted cotton string and wire.
  • Made from Everlasto natural cotton string and twines from the James Lever Factory in Bolton, UK, where they've been manufacturing for over 150 years.
  • Decoration Material & Flammability Note: keep away from open flames, candles and other heat sources.
  • Available in two star sizes: Standard Star (15cm x 15cm x 1cm) or Large Star (21cm x 21cm x 1cm).
  • Available in two coil sizes for a secure fit: Standard Coil (1cm diameter) or Wide Coil (2cm diameter).
  • To fix the star to your tree, twist the wire coil around the leader branch. I liken it to plaiting them together.
  • These tree toppers are handmade, so all measurements given are approximate.
  • Natural cotton string is intended for practical uses so slight inconsistencies in colour, flecks and blemishes are all part of the charm.
  • All packaging can be re-used, composted and/or widely recycled.

A simple star to sit proudly on top of the Christmas tree. This was the first tree topper I ever made and it's the product I credit with setting me off on this string odyssey.

I've been making these toppers for several years now. The string is French knitted to form a hollow cord, threaded with wire and then sculpted by hand into a star. Loose or unintentionally wonky tree toppers have always been a bit of a bugbear of mine, so having a well fitting coil is critical to their pertness and involves winding wire round a special former.

Available in two star sizes and two coil sizes to fit your tree perfectly.
