Description

An oval shaped pedestal planter or bowl, made using a combination of hand building and wheel thrown elements...

An oval shaped pedestal planter or bowl, made using a combination of hand building and wheel thrown elements.
The pedestal foot was thrown on the wheel, trimmed and then attached to the coil-built oval shaped bowl. The textured detail was then carved and sculpted to give the illusion of leaves ruffled by a breeze. The fired piece is then coated in a soft creamy coloured glaze and fired again to 1220 degrees to form the finished piece.
