A bold statement card for any guy (beaded friend), which is hand letterpress printed then die cut and creased to create the pop-up hat that flips up when standing. Each card is hand fed through my treadle printing press (restored from c.1900) four times – for both the yellow and black ink and then the two die-cuts. The beardy guy is created from 350gsm card that is made sustainably in Great Britain and comes with a 'Japanese style' string and washer envelope that can be re-used, making a useful addition to the card. With letterpress printing, each print involves composing the design into a metal chase, known as a form, which is locked into the bed of the press ready to be inked. The form is pressed against the paper, creating a beautiful impression and tactile finish.
