Kate Brigden

East Sussex

Kate works from her garden workshop overlooking farmland in rural Sussex. Kate's pieces are made on a pottery wheel or handbuilt and each one is lovingly handpainted.

The patterns that adorn Kate's work are inspired by the surrounding Sussex landscape but also have a strong nod to modernist painters, such as the Bloomsbury Group and 20th century British textile design.

The story behind the business
Meet Kate Brigden

Kate originally studied painting and has a Masters from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Kate joined a weekly wheel throwing class and soon got the pottery bug!

Kate started making pottery professionally soon after and now supplies homes with handpainted pottery up and down the country.

Kate works from her garden workshop and spend her time making small batches of pottery, while listening to Radio 4 and podcasts!
