When I was a small girl my Mum would buy me small cross stitch kits of teddybears and animals, in an attempt to keep small hands busy. Later at senior school I hand stitched a drawing of Garfield in a textiles class, it was at that moment something inside me clicked, and I knew that this was something that I loved. But being a teen, my social life took me elsewhere and I forgot about the embroidery bug.

Cut to many years later and I had a young family of my own, I was post natal, and looking for something that I could call 'mine'. Friends encouraged me to pick up my needle again, and I was instantly transported back to that Garfield. I just felt it in my bones. This was what I was supposed to be doing!

And as a natural obsessive, there has been no stopping me, I have gone down the embroidery rabbit hole and not looked back.
