Description

Some of the best picnics happen on the spur of the moment. Enjoy the fun with these toast shaped serving boards, wherever you choose to picnic. Also a great way to serve tasty treats or simply for cutting bread and cheese to share. This picnic set includes two large oak toast shaped serving boards, and two red and white checked napkins, for a touch of nostalgia. And because, who doesn’t need a napkin at a picnic?

The toast shaped serving boards are cut by hand from locally salvaged solid oak and then charred at the edges, like all the best toast! The boards are then sanded and rubbed down with a natural oil. Using wood that has been salvaged, fire to colour the edges, and natural oils to finish the boards, means that they are 100% natural, and environmentally friendly.

Founder Hayley with mucky hands from the Yakisugi charring process

Brighton, East Sussex

Hi, I’m Hayley - a maker, obsessed with cooking, and seeing food beautifully presented.

I’ve been transforming wood, fabrics, and furniture for over 20 years, working mainly on commissions and with chefs and event designers.

Since moving to the UK in 2016, Yakisugi (or charring) has been the focus of my work.

Each item in my wooden tableware collection is designed to accentuate the colour and texture of food, as it contrasts so beautifully with the charred wood.
