A vibrant fusion of digital art and urban texture, this small, limited edition print celebrates the African Flower Beetle. This artwork is a combination of digital painting and collage from my own specimen collection and found urban texture from my walks around East London. Each print is hand finished in hand applied varnish.
Mecynorhina oberthuri is a flower beetle from Tanzania. This flower beetle was long thought to be the rarest species in its genus, however, Jean-Pierre Lequeux discovered that it is common in the forests of Tanzania.
This artwork is from a series of abstract, urban miniatures, combining my love for insects and uniting the beauty of urban abstract texture, into one. A thoughtful gift for art lovers and insect enthusiasts alike.
