This original art print is a wood engraving of an Anna’s Hummingbird. It is a very detailed illustration using fine wood engraving tools on a highly carved piece of maple wood.
Printed using an old Gem Letterpress proofing press at Spike Print Studio in Bristol. I printed the proofs on the very large Vandercook 232p at Spike Print Studio (see photo), partly for the comedy value and partly because it prints so beautifully.
It is printed in black ink onto white Zerkall paper.
Please note that this paper is a warm white colour, not cream as it may appear on some screens.
