Our signature Ume print is inspired by the flowers of the Japanese apricot tree and our love of retro textiles. This playful hand printed napkin set also features a cute Dot Dot design. We like to combine both prints for a contemporary layered table setting and think they look particularly lovely over the collection’s matching tablecloths and striped table mats. They could also be used with existing white linens for a simpler look.
When creating a woodblock print, the design is first traced onto translucent paper, to guide the block maker who then slowly carves it out of wood using a hammer and chisel. The printer then dips the blocks into a pad that holds the different dyes.
One block per colour is then stamped carefully and precisely by hand, to start building up the design, layer by layer.
Hand block printed by artisans in Jaipur.
100% cotton.
Eco friendly AZO free dyes.
45 x 45cm.
Set of 4 napkins in 2 contrast designs. Off white ground.

Each napkin is individually printed. You may find slight variations in pattern and colour. We believe these add charm and tell a story, making each product unique.
