Pentreath & Hall's Rainbow design is the ultimate symbol of hope and happiness...
Pentreath & Hall's Rainbow design is the ultimate symbol of hope and happiness.
Inspired by the work of 'the Pop Art nun', Corita Kent, the Painted Rainbow Cushion translates Bridie Hall's simple, hand-painted rainbow into a colourful needlepoint design.
Says Hall: "Those familiar with my work will know I have always favoured the primary colours of the rainbow. I love how these have turned out, on a clean and rich cream background. The first batch came back from the stitchers as the COVID lockdown began to lift. Its been a nice thought that during such a time, rainbows were being made in prisons, hopefully adding a little light to the days of those making them."
Backed with linen and filled with feather inner.
Dimensions: 60 x 30 cm / 24 x 12 in.
Designer: Pentreath & Hall.

Fine Cell Work
London
Fine Cell Work is a charity & social enterprise committed to the rehabilitation of prisoners and prison leavers.
Our aim is to support prisoners and prison leavers to finish their sentences with skills, money earned & saved, and the self-belief to rebuild meaningful, independent, crime-free lives. We do this by teaching them soft work skills, and by training and paying them to produce exquisite needlework, create beautiful cushions & gifts for sale.
Fine Cell Work's intricately-stitched products have been created in collaboration with some of the country’s leading contemporary designers, with the majority stitched by hand in UK prisons and in our post-release workshop in Battersea, London.
