"‘Lashings of butter’ - are always consumed in our house, proper butter. I have a strong memory of being eight and my Grandma serving us homemade minestrone soup with parmesan on top whilst we watched Casualty on tv.
She would shout from the kitchen in her husky voice as she smoked camel blues, “would you like french stick with lashings of butter Maisy darling?”
I love how strong some memories are, I miss her so much but have a hearty vault of lovely memories to swim in."
