As with all my creations, this Vase is handmade wheel-thrown in white stoneware, with hand added additional birdy features, under-glazed then biscuit fired, transparent glazed then kiln fired to a very sweaty 1220'c.
Opening on head for small bud flowers or pens or paintbrushes.

Entirely handmade from start to finish!
It's about time I extended the flock a bit more, I launched my first pigeon "Lou with the Coo" way back in 2020! So here is my new Pigeon! A vase! A sturdy colourful companion to your home and a useful addition to the living room.
Like all my handmade items, this pigeon is wheel-thrown ceramic on the potter's wheel in a lovely speckled grey Sibelco clay, very rock dove. Underglazed with a pigeon colour palette and then kiln fired with a transparent sheen. The opening at the top is about 2cm for brushes, flowers or pens. All sizes are approximate as the kilns shrink things! Have you seen his busy mate?
