Description

"Shut The Front Door" possibly one of my favourite, swear free sayings!...

"Shut The Front Door" possibly one of my favourite, swear free sayings!
This image from the 1950's depicts a cottage style house with the door left wide open, so this phrase, of shock and surprise immediately sprung to mind.
The original photo was hand embroidered with dark pink satin stitch lettering with metallic gold satin stitch shadowing, with the phrase "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR" Shades of green leaves were then stitched around the door, to highlight the bushes, and french knot shades of pink embroidery added for the floral blooms.
The piece was then professionally photographed and turned into a professionally giclee fine art print.

Professionally giclee printed on to beautiful 300gsm 100% cotton smooth paper.
The likeness to the original image is absolutely stunning.

A5 measuring 210mm x 148mm
A4 measuring 297mm x 210mm

One of my favourite things is to hunt out beautiful, but discarded vintage photos and give them a new lease of life. I love designing, then adding, hand embroidered embellishments to give them a fun, whimsical update. I then have these pieces professionally turned into fine art giclee prints.
