Celebrate your love of nature with this cheerful barn owl wall art.
This handmade wall sculpture features a barn owl, made from hand printed papers in crisp white, warm browns and gold. I have used metallic lustres in the printing inks, which gives his feathers a lovely sheen. I use traditional printing techniques such as monotype and screen printing to create paper with unique patterns and textures. He is covered in hand cut feathers, and features the distinctive heart shaped face of a barn owl- one of my favourite features of the species. He perches on a wreath adorned with white flowers with pale yellow middles. This piece is one of a kind.
The wreath is paper wrapped steel wire, and the paper I use is 300 GSM, so sturdy and robust materials are used to build my sculptures. He is varnished with a UV protective lacquer, which seals his edges and ensures his colours remain vibrant, even if you choose to hang him in your window.
This woodland wall art measures 29 cm (12 inches) tall and wide. The barn owl sculpture is 17 cm tall.
Need to know
Made from recycled 300gsm paper (very sturdy cardstock).
Varnished with a UV protective lacquer.
Hangs from the wall via a (copper coated) steel hook, suspended with invisible fishing line at a 30 cm (nearly 12 inches) drop from the top of the sculpture.
Easy to care for; a tickle with a feather or microfibre duster every now and then is all he needs.
