Illustrated mug: Bobbing boats on a British coastline...
Illustrated mug: Bobbing boats on a British coastline.
Helen has walked the entire coastal path of Cornwall and these little fishing boats are reminder of those beautiful shores. She takes her inspiration from the small fishing town of Newlyn, where cottages line the seafront and small boats sway in the water below.
Handmade English Bone China.
Mug dimensions 9.4cm h. x 11cm w.
Made in Stoke-on-Trent, the heartland of British ceramics.
Helen’s Dailyware pots are slip-cast from moulds of her wheel thrown forms. They are then bisque-fired, glazed and glaze-fired before being decorated with special lithographically printed ceramic decals of her hand-painted illustrations. A third and final firing melts the artwork into the glaze, so that it is tough enough for dishwashers, microwaves and everyday use.
