The Death's Head Hawk Moth is unmistakeable and famous for its skull-shaped marking, is a rare visitor to the UK. It is the largest moth to be found in the UK, with a wingspan of around 120 millimetres. It migrates from southern Europe, usually arriving in late Summer or Autumn.
The skull-shaped marking on their back, death's-head hawk-moths have sadly been seen as omens of death. I have been always been fascinated in their beauty. This card is a perfect gift for the entomology lover. Add a bespoke box frame and you have an ethical taxidermy gift. The moth's wings are hand cut and can be folded out for display, giving the moth a realistic feel.
