This is our take on traditional kantha quilts. We source beautifully coloured deadstock fabrics in the local market. Each panel is hand-cut, sewn together, and intricately hand-finished with traditional kantha stitching to hold all the layers together. Perfect for draping at the end of a bed or on a sofa.
The artisans making our quilts are part of a co-operative that was created to educate, train and empower marginalised women including sex workers in skills such as block-printing, kantha stitching and natural dyeing whilst also teaching them other skills such as organic farming and self-defence. Over 4500 women have benefited from this initiative which follows Fair Trade principles and which we feel privileged to be a part of.
Hand-stitched by women in a co-operative outside Jaipur.
Single Size 140cm x 200cm. Will cover a single bed and also work beautifully on the end of a king size bed.
Each quilt has the signature of the artisan embroidered on a corner.
