Each one of a kind, this handmade paper sculpture brings the charm of the British countryside to your home. This handmade sculpture depicts a great spotted woodpecker, covered with hand-cut feathers from hand-printed papers. I use traditional printing methods such as monotype and screen printing to ensure his colour palette and patterns are unique to him. He is made entirely from paper, and his construction also dictates that his posture is one of a kind, so each of my sculptures has its own distinct personality. His feet are paper-wrapped steel wire, making him sturdy on his big toes, and he has shiny black eyes. He stands unaided on any flat surface.
A thoughtful gift for nature lovers or a standout piece for your own home. Great spotted woodpeckers have long been a favourite of mine, with their bouncing flight and their ability to seemingly hang from any surface. A resident to most of the UK, you can usually hear them before you spot them, thanks to their distinctive call.
