Kingfisher Wall Sculpture On A Peach Tree Blossom Wreath

Add some joy to your décor with this handmade floral wreath, featuring a kingfisher sculpture.
This kingfisher paper sculpture is made with handprinted papers in teal blue, coral and white. His body is completely covered with hand cut feathers. The monotype printing methods I use to mark my recycled papers ensures his colours and markings unique to him. I build his body in sections, which allows me to create a unique pose for each of my sculptures. He is one of a kind. He has bright orange feet and shimmery spots on his head and back. He is varnished with a UV protective lacquer. His beak is dark grey and his eyes are faceted shiny black beads.

He perches on a wreath of hand cut delicate peach coloured blooms. They have green middles. There are 14 of them adorning his wreath, accompanied by some leafy stems. It was my aim to capture the joy of spring in this unique wall hanging. I hope you like him.

Kingfishers are residents of the whole UK, but there are more of them in the South. They are very fast flyers, but you can usually spot them perched by the riverside while they're fishing. It always feels like such an honour to discover them!
