Jerome's Orange Foresters is inspired by urban texture, layers of paste ups and spray paint around Brick lane, Shoreditch. The orange and the jade attracted my attention being one of my fave colours. Deconstructed from one of my photos, a pattern emerged, reflective the luscious green forest, contrasting with of the orange of this butterfly and almost ethnic and primitive markings and pattern. This is the part of my process that excites me, the natural evolution and story that emerges from a moment in time. Like butterflies, urban texture is always in metamorphosis, echoing our human evolution and voices. Nature is always beautiful to me but I also see abstract beauty in the decaying and disregarded paste ups on the streets of London.
The orange foresters are complimentary set against an urban, vibrant, found texture, that I digitally manipulated to transform into a beautiful backdrop for these magnificent butterflies.
This is an original artwork by Evi Antonio. The one-of-a-kind artwork, printed using pigment inks on German etching hahnemühle. Hand finished with acrylic glazes and three dimensional paper cut butterflies. It is framed in a bespoke, hand painted, The jade and orange colours compliment each other and it would work in a contemporary or tradition home. A perfect gift for taxidermy and butterfly lovers. The dimensions are a 60cm in a circular frame, comes ready to hang and signed on the back.

Butterflies symbolise rebirth and transformation. They have always featured heavily in my art, exploring themes of transformation and fragility in the forms of butterflies. I create small editions or one-of-a-kind pieces. I live life consciously, in appreciation for the smaller details of nature, striving to illuminate aspects of a subject that may go unnoticed. In a frenetic world, nature teaches us harmony and I am compelled to express this message through my art.
