Long Tailed Tit Sculpture On A Wreath of Pink Hydrangea

This wall hanging depicts a handmade long tailed tit sculpture, perched on a wreath adorned with hydrangea blooms in a colour where baby pink meets lilac. The long tailed tit is one of a kind, made from hand printed papers. Everything from his pose, to his colour palette and textures, are unique to him. I use traditional printing techniques such as monotype and screen printing to mark my recycled paper. The construction of his little body also ensures that his posture is unique to him. Everything is handmade, from his hand cut feathers that cover his body, to his wire shaped feet.

This little paper bird is black and white, with delicate pink head and belly feathers. The wing feathers have a thin white edge, which highlights his pose.
