The colourful folk art of South America has always been a huge inspiration for my work, and stitching these Mexican Day of the Dead inspired sugar skulls are quite the labour of love. Each one is sewn by hand using a range of colourful threads, the design slightly different each time, making each piece individual.
Not just for Halloween, there is no good reason why you couldn't wear this all year round, to add a pop of colour to an outfit.
The skull brooch comes wrapped in tissue paper, packaged in a white pillow box, tied with a satin ribbon bow.
These skull brooches are hand cut and stitched, using pearlescent white leatherette, front and back. Multicoloured stitching with faux leather flower and cross detail adorned with tiny gold beads.
Lightly padded, and measuring approximately 6cm x 5cm, it is a very lightweight brooch, so no need to worry about it pulling on your clothes.

Hi, I'm Zoe.
Born on the South Coast of England in the late seventies, and raised on a diet of sequins, buttons, ribbons and thread, it was inevitable that sewing would play a large part of my life.
Inspired by South American folk art and vintage tattoos, all of my pieces are designed and hand-sewn by me, with love and attention, using cruelty free faux leather.
I believe every day is a dress up day, and my jewellery and accessories are designed with that in mind.
