This Miniature Curiosity series was inspired by the miniature portraits of the Victorian era.
This modern update features a range of the cutest creatures, depicted in circular form! Each one has been individually needle-felted in relief onto a wool felt background. They have then been nested into in a round, solid-wood frame with a convex glass front.
Each one has been 'painted' in wool by hand, so each one is unique. I will send you an image of the exact one you will receive before dispatch for your approval.
This 'wool painting' has been needle-felted by hand by the artist Laura Cronin aka Bumble & Earwig and is signed on the reverse.
This piece has been made using wool sourced from within the UK.
The frame measures 12cm in diameter and is 2cm deep.
The visible area of the artwork measures 8.5cm.
The frame is turned from solid wood and was handmade in the Ukraine.

Laura Cronin, aka Bumble & Earwig specialises in the creation of miniature curiosities through the medium of needle-felting.
These artworks are inspired by antique taxidermy, museum collections, scientific illustrations, and of course David Attenborough documentaries!
Every piece is painstakingly handmade, using a barbed needle to prod at wool roving thousands of times! It’s more fun than it may sound, but it does require a lot of time and patience!
