This is a varied edition where each piece is unique, created by combining a four-layer screenprint with watercolours on Saunders Waterford 300gsm paper. Hand painted to accentuate the magical quality of light & shade in the forest, this artwork was inspired by these beautiful earthy fruiting bodies at dusk, and the nostalgic feel of hand tinted sepia photography of a bygone era.
Paper size: Approx 148mm x 210mm / A5 with hand-torn and deckle edges.
Please note that as this is a varied edition, each piece will be different to the one pictured, although the overall feel will be the same. The elements which differ are the hand painted pink, yellow and ochre washes.
This artwork is sold unframed.

Hello - I’m Kath Leone, a contemporary artist and textile designer from Cape Town, South Africa.
I create limited edition screen prints inspired by nature. These are imaginative scenes and pseudo botanical compositions featuring plants, insects, animals, fungi and sea life.
Whether free-diving in Cape Town’s magical kelp forests or sketching mushrooms and mosses under a shady tree canopy in the English countryside, I am repeatedly drawn to the detailed richness of life in these varied and awe-inspiring forest environments.
