'There’d Better Be A Mirrorball' linocut original Disco Ball print...

'There’d Better Be A Mirrorball' linocut original Disco Ball print

Celebrating the iconic mirrorball. The title of this print ‘There’d Better Be A Mirrorball' is taken from the Arctic Monkeys song. But it could also reference the Elbow song - or whatever else a mirrorball means to you.

This print has been created from by hand carving natural linoleum, and then handprinted using eco-friendly professional printing inks onto lovely heavyweight paper. The gorgeous gold printing ink is available on black or white paper.

Each one is printed by hand, by me, in my Yorkshire studio. Because all my prints are printed by hand this makes every single one of them a unique reproduction, and subtle variations will occur from print to print in detail. Which is the whole beauty of the process and creation of handmade prints - no two prints are ever exactly the same! You get a piece of art that is individual and unique.

My prints are created in limited editions, so each print is also hand titled, numbered and signed by me in pencil. Professional gold printmakers ink

Medium: Original linocut print - hand cut, hand inked, hand pressed.

Paper size: 29 cm x 21 cm which fits a standard frame size.
Paper: A lovely heavyweight, black, smooth, acid-free 220 gsm printing paper.

Each handmade print is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist (me!).

Need to know

To be really clear, you are purchasing the print only. No frames or mounts included - framed and mounted prints shown in my images are for illustration purposes only.

Packaging: All my prints come unframed, with a protective card backing, and wrapped in a clear protective compostable & biodegradable alternative to cellophane. No plastic here! Then packed inside a card backed envelope.

Planet: I want my print making to have the least impact on the plant as possible. So I use professional UK made vegetable oil based eco-friendly printmaking inks (and no solvents are used in the studio). All prints are sent to you in plastic-free packaging too

Susan creates original and innovative work with a distinctive graphic quality. Her art is created by hand printmaking - using letterpress, lino cut and mono printing techniques. Her fascination with these handmade analogue techniques and with 'slow art' drives her creative output. She loves how each piece she hand makes is absolutely unique. How each piece is made with care and attention, and how creating by hand produces what might seem like 'imperfections' in our perfect digital world (finger prints, different weights of ink and the like ) yet are actually what creates their beauty.

She combines a simple, graphic style for which she in known with either striking monochrome or rich metallics.

Her inspiration comes from inspirational poems, song lyrics, wild swimming, contemporary culture and ancient wisdoms, folklore, protest art and feminisim.
