Our signature Ume print is inspired by the flowers of the Japanese apricot tree and our love of retro textiles. This striking tablecloth is gorgeous on its own and can also be layered up with our napkin sets and stripe placemats for a picture-perfect tablescape.
When creating a woodblock print, the design is first traced onto translucent paper, to guide the block maker who then slowly carves it out of wood using a hammer and chisel.
The printer then dips the blocks into a pad that holds the different dyes.
By hand, one block per colour is then stamped carefully and precisely to start building up the design, layer by layer. There are no seams on the tablecloths, the border is just an extension of the main design, a little detail showing the small artisanal details we love.
Hand block printed by artisans in Jaipur.
230 x 140cm (sits up to 6).
100% cotton.
Eco-friendly AZO free dyes.
Printed contrast border.
Matching napkin sets are available.
Wash at 30˚. Do not tumble dry / do not bleach. Low iron if required.
Each tablecloth is individually printed using traditional methods. You may find slight variations in pattern and colour as each artisan will print with different pressure, in his own way. We believe these add charm and tell a story, making each product unique.
*Please note actual colours might differ slightly from the photos
